Our main goal at Sound Anchors when we were designing new stands for the B&W 802 Nautilus was to improve the speaker performance. We did this by using a combination of several proven methods.
1. Elevate the speaker slightly 2. Mass load the system 3. Make the speaker more stable 4. Eliminate cabinet movement 5. Lessen uncontrolled energy transfer to the listening room
Sound Anchor 802 Nautilus Stands do not fasten to the speakers. The speaker simply sits on top of the stand with
four specially chosen points of contact. These points were selected for their strength, energy transmission characteristics and sound quality. Installation is as simple as lifting the speaker up onto the stand. The speaker is not modified or damaged in any way.
Sound Anchor 802 Nautilus Stands come from the factory filled with our proprietary filling that has been optimized to eliminate unwanted resonance. You do not need to mess with sand or shot and there is no sonic advantage in doing so.
The new improved Sound
Anchor 801D stands incorporate several improvements over our earlier 802N
Stands. The front support bar is now made of 1/2" thick steel bar. This provides
a super sturdy and stable platform for your speakers. This front bar has two
holes that will accept the front ball casters or optional B&W spikes. The rear
of the stands have two heavy duty leveling pads to support and level the rear of
the speakers.
Sound Anchor 802 Nautilus Stands can be set up with 3 spikes, 4 spikes or 4 casters. When 802 Nautilus speakers are placed on spiked Sound Anchor Stands the transfer of energy to the floor is reduced and the overall sound of your system is substantially improved. Casters do not deliver the same performance as spikes but they do allow the speakers to be easily moved
